Dr. Tarka was appointed to a four-year term as a member of the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA).

Dr. Tarka presented a lecture to a graduate Nutrition course on Functional Foods at The Pennsylvania State University entitled: “Cocoa and Chocolate: New Research Findings and Their Role as Functional Foods in the Diet”.

May 22

Dr. Tarka is an invited speaker at the Central Science Laboratory (CSL), York, UK for a conference sponsored by the European Fed Lipid Society on “Chocolate, Chocolate Fats, and the EU Directive” where he will present : “The View from the USA”.
